After nearly three years of doing soulful web design for Coaches, Healers, and other online service providers, I think I’ve finally narrowed down the three things every Coach needs on their website.
First off, let me ask you something: Why do you think it’s important to have a website? Maybe to build authority with your clients once they swipe up from your Instagram story? Or, maybe its to accept the payments for your newest program so that you can pay for your rent? Maybe it’s to show off your newly created Mastermind or series of holistic eBooks? Could it be a little bit of all three? #thoughtso
Alright, fine, there’s no arguing that having a website isn’t important. Let’s get going with the three things every Coach needs on their website!
It’s almost 2020, which means that the website themes that took over the world of coaching in 2015, are not the shit anymore. Come on ladies, it’s time to say goodbye to the pink, white, and gold branding and the archaic WordPress themes to open space for something better. Something truly intuitive. Something truly, better.
If you’ve been following me closely, or even at all, you probably know that I’m a raving fan of Showit. A user-friendly design platform that changed the way I design and changed the way my clients feel about updating their sites. In my opinion, Showit is like the Canva of web design, with an intuitive drag-n-drop user-interface, 24/7 real human customer service, and super affordable monthly subscriptions. Not only is it intuitive and affordable, but it’s also super capable. And when I say capable, I mean capable. Capable of hosting the payments of a million-dollar program launch. Or, wowing your Web Developer friends that have been developing custom coded sites for the last 18 years.
Not only am I a raving fan of Showit, but I’m also a huge fan of designing Sales Pages that are strategically designed to sell high-ticket offers and programs. And that brings me to my first out of the three things every coach needs on their website, Sales Pages.
To be successful, your Sales Page needs to do these three things:
It needs to be crafted to give your clients the experience they’re looking for and lovingly deserve.
It acts as your first step of qualifying potential clients, because honey, you and I both know, a client that doesn’t shine at your same vibration, is not a good client for you. Your energy is valuable, we both know that.
And finally, it needs to introduce you as the authority you are! You want your clients to know more than just who you are and why you’re doing what you do, they need to know exactly why you’re the best fit for what they’re looking for.
Now, let’s jump into the second thing that every coach needs on their website: Testimonials.
Testimonials are your best friend on your sales pages, especially if they’re videos! Let’s show who you’ve worked with, what you’ve helped them through and what they’re now doing because of working with you.
Here’s a tip from me that I find really helps me with establishing credibility: Use testimonials from clients that you can get a high-resolution photo or headshot, you don’t want to throw off your beautiful website with a blurry iPhone 4 photo. Like, come on girl, not even portrait mode? #it’s2019
This is how I like to structure testimonials on my client’s sites and the Bold x Boho Website Templates I design.
The third thing that every coach needs on their website:
The invitation for your clients to take action. Clear action.
If you’ve got someone this far, you can take them all the way to the bank. Let’s put the icing on the cake, ladies.
Having call-to-action (CTA) buttons on your website is important, but having them at the right spot, is how they’ll convert to real $$$. You want your CTA buttons to be placed where emotions are full and your client’s hand is already shaking violently on her MasterCard, just waiting to enroll.
Cause come on, I know you have bills to pay. Let’s sell these ‘muthafuckin programs!
01. When it comes to CTA buttons, there are a few things you want to make sure you’re always doing. The text on the button should be simple, inviting, and really stand out. I recommend using either white or a contrasting color to make the text pop on the button. Think about what emotions you want to envoke on your clients prior to making the decision to enroll, purchase or join. Below, is an emotion guide to show some real-life examples of color theory being used in branding.
02. Your CTA buttons should mimic the experience you’re providing your clients while they’re on your website. Without crowding the site, you should try and have as many CTA’s on your website as you can, especially on your sales page! Be strategic, and try reading all of your Sales Pages copy out loud or to your hubby, or a friend. Reading your sales copy out loud can show you where you might be missing a CTA that might be costing you money! Here is an example of a Sales Page with great CTA’s:
If you’re a Coach in 2019-2020, you need these three things on your website to be successful — I promise.
