It can be overwhelming, confusing and straight-up mind-boggling when deciding which web hosting platform is the best fit for you. Should you go with Squarespace, Wix, dive deep into the world of WordPress or go with my personal favorite — Showit?
Believe it or not, the majority of my Bold x Boho clients have actually been switching from Squarespace to Showit. Of all the deciding factors, they almost all boil down to just the creativity and mobile-responsiveness. When you’re customizing your website or a Bold x Boho template, the ability to change WHATEVER you want is critical. Sadly, Squarespace is very limiting in terms of the creative customization across the mobile and desktop versions of your site.
I started my web design career a few years ago and built exclusively on WordPress because of my client’s wishes. At the time, WordPress seemed to be the best in the biz because of Woocommerce, Yoast and other native plug-ins.
Fast forward two sun-filled years of working 1:1 with my amazing clients and Showit is born. Showit is one of the newer design platforms out there and is fricken amazing. If you’re familiar with Canva, Showit is like the Canva of web design. Designing with their easy drag-n-drop features and intuitive user interface is so amazing. Trust me, once you leave the back-end of Squarespace or WordPress, you’ll NEVER want to go back.
What’s so great about Showit?
Now, let’s dive into the similarities between Showit and Squarespace:
Sounds awesome, right? I hate to say it, but it actually isn’t, at all! You want your mobile version of your website to be stunning, just like your desktop version, and that means having all the control. Even though it sounds crazy, sometimes less content is actually better on a mobile device. If you aren’t sure what I mean, look at the elegant mobile version of my best selling template, Wild & Free.
I don’t want to knock Squarespace too hard, it’s a great option for someone who doesn’t really care about the creativity, the mobile optimization or any of the other crucial elements of having an online business for that matter. I recommend every single entrepreneur I come in contact with to switch to Showit, and I cannot even begin to tell you how many of them have thanked me months later after they’ve made the switch, or have hired me to build them a beautiful site with all of this in mind.
So, listen up ladies! If you’re just starting your entrepreneurial journey, or happen to be reading this before embarking on a sexy, soul-aligned rebrand, do yourself a favor, and check out Showit. Better yet, save yourself a boat-load of time, stress and overwhelm, and check out the Bold x Boho Website Template shop. I promise you won’t regret it.
